After being a keen follower of the #PowerAndInfluence discussions, hosted by PR-superstar Ella Minty, for a while - I was so pleased when I was asked if I'd like to host one. Amongst some of the biggest names in the industry, it was a total honour to even be a part of these discussions, let alone a… Continue reading #PowerAndInfluence overview – PR and morals, where do you draw the line?
Kanye West - ever famous for being somewhat outspoken and never shy - has recently sparked up yet another conversation. This time, it's with the question: what would happen if our lives weren't so defined by numbers? In a world that's becoming slightly Black Mirror-esque, social popularity is becoming more and more important. So much to the point that not only has social media become a big part of our lifestyle, but also in our careers. Which i'm not saying is a bad thing by the way, part of my job includes social media management - and I love being able to use platforms to make a difference. The way that it should be used.
Today is my work-iversary at Tecmark. 12 months ago to the date, I was a timid (and not afraid to admit it) final year student walking through the doors of Portland Street for the very first time. Not really knowing what to expect. One thing I didn’t expect and never could have comprehended though is… Continue reading Happy work-iversary to me: looking back at my first year in PR
Though i'm technically a 'digital PR executive'; copywriting has been - and still is - a big part of my job. When I started interning at Tecmark last year, I began with writing blogs and articles for some of their smaller clients. YouTube has been around since 2005 and was typically famed for music videos - yet fast forward 13 years and it's actually one of the most popular and influential platforms across the whole social web. Vloggers have been around for years but have only recently come to prevalence in the past few. They now have… Continue reading The Rise of YouTube – When did Vloggers Become so Important?
Political views aside - as that's what I'm not here to talk about - whatever your opinions are on the current 45th President of the United States, Donald Trump are. I think one thing we can all agree on is that he is literally a PR's worst nightmare. But first off, lets talk about how… Continue reading Why Trump is a PR Nightmare
Instagram, to an extent, is the marmite of social media. But whether you love it or hate it, you cannot deny it if the influence it has over so many people in this day and age. Being influential isn't a bad thing - people not feeling good enough as a result of what they see… Continue reading Why it’s Time to Ditch the Insta-Envy
I'm a big fan of writing about current mishaps and mess-ups that I take note of in the press. Marketing is one of those things that has to be done right. If not, it has the capacity to possibly destroy your brand reputation and ultimately, cause business failure. Here are some of the biggest marketing mess-ups… Continue reading Marketing Mishaps 101
