#InternationalWomensDay – My Top 5 PR Inspirations

Happy International Women’s Day! To celebrate, I wanted to put together a quick post about some of the women I admire in PR, and who inspire me every day (i’m all about girl power after all). Though there are so many powerful women who are big names in the industry, I wanted to make this post about people who I can relate to on a personal level, as they deserve the recognition too.

Orlagh Shanks

At the top of my list is no other than my fab friend Orlagh – one of my ultimate inspos in the ‘PRsphere’.

Unlike me, she opted to do a placement year in London and to say it looks insane would be an understatement. Although we’re no longer at uni together, my girl is living the dream and I’m so proud of her! Plus, Orlagh and her blog was one of my main inspirations for starting my own so she’s definitely at the top of my top women in PR list!

Check her blog here (but be ready to experience some serious envy).

Hana Bednarova

Hana is my saving grace who helped me get my current job in PR and who looked after me there.

She’s so clued up in the world of Digital PR and is one of my absolute inspirations in the industry, if I could be half the woman she is in the future i’d be a happy girl to say the very least. Hana has actually recently moved on from my agency to start her own venture but I don’t doubt that she’s doing fab and is going to go on to achieve big big things.

Rebecca Henderson

I came across Rebecca’s blog after it being featured in PR Place’s weekly round up and since, i’ve loved following her blog and reading her PR related posts.

Her #CreativeCampaign posts in particular are so interesting, but to be honest, just her blog in general is such an inspiration – i’d definitely recommend following her to anyone in the industry (or to anybody who isn’t for that matter). From one PR girl to another.

You can check out Rebecca’s blog, Bright Lights Big City here (you won’t be disappointed, I can promise you that).

Kate Cox

Kate is the Managing Director of a company I worked at over reading week of last year, DeWinter.

My week at DeWinter was so fab and i’ll always be grateful to them for having me. Kate runs the business and couldn’t be more of an inspiration to me really. I’d love one day to work my way up to her kind of position (one can dream, right?)

Kate was also nominated for the Women in Business 2018 awards which speaks volumes in itself. You can read more about DeWinter over on their blog.

The PR Girls of Ulster

Okay, so I tried for a long time to pick my favorite blogger from the Ulster PR Student blog to be the last lady on my list but it was simply too hard.

Truth be told I love all of their work and I was never going to be able to chose just one girl to mention. All the posts I read are beautifully written, are creative and are incredibly interesting so they all deserve the final spot on my list.

You can read the wonderful works of the Ulster PR students here.

Happy International Womens Day everybody.
