A Bit About Working

Since graduating, I’ve thrown myself in to educating myself in everything PR and beyond (and I thought uni would be the end of my learning days). Competent in SEO, creative content marketing and PR – I love to combine the three to create really successful campaigns for the clients I work with at my full time job as a PR & Digital Media Executive at The Source PR. That’s by day anyway…

And by night… Well, ever keen to continue writing, I turn to this blog.

A Bit About Blogging

I created this blog in 2017 after blogging for around a year on another (and admittedly a bit-of-a-failure) site. In the past, I used to only blog about music, but after becoming more comfortable with blogging and expressing my views (and since my music taste pretty much nosedived to only listening to The Greatest Showman on repeat) I no longer wanted to constrict myself to one genre of writing and thus I founded this blog. After posting frequently since creating this blog, I started to edge towards more PR/Marketing focused writing and this is what I plan to continue with – but take that with a pinch of salt as I pretty much unapologetically write whatever I feel like writing.

I finally became http://www.thoughtsofjessica.com at the start of 2018, and my monthly visitors spiked to the thousands (and you guys have stuck around – so thank you).

A Bit About PR

I wanted to study PR because I love how it’s always changing and always exciting. I’ve worked in a number of fast-paced agencies and I love the urgency of it. And not only this, but there’s no feeling quite to describe seeing the results of my work, I think that’s what PR is all about. (Journalists, you should know us PRs do a mini super happy dance whenever you cover our stories).

Everything you do or say is PR.

I chose my Business & PR course at university without really knowing what to expect, but three years in I can confidently say I couldn’t have made a better choice. I know I’ve chosen a career in which I’ll never be bored and for me, that is everything.

And A Bit About Me

Writing is, and always has been an utmost passion of mine, so you can expect a lot of ramblings on this blog. One thing I can promise you is that you’ll never be short of posts from me, I love to write and if anything, you’ll be wanting to shut me up. (Hey I’ve been chatting away on this site for 2 years now, and I’ve still not tired of things to say).

I am 21-year-old Digital PR & Outreach Executive at Tecmark in Manchester. A black country girl living up north – I backed my bags to see the city, and I’ve never looked back.
